"A fun bit of history. A bit of walking around which immerses you. It was a hot day there could have heen more obvious place to buy refreshments, even water. Has picnic benches and don't miss the playful games upstairs.."
"A great place to relax and enjoy the history. Great for picnics and when we were there hot chips in a mobile van..... bliss. There is an entrance fee but well worth it 4 euros."
"Not much to see to be honest. No walls, no barracks....all the stone work has been removed, just some ruins now with some strange art. Didn't mind the 4 euro entrance but a waste of time. Keep driving."
"History. Lovely peaceful site on the immense Gironde before it splits to Garonne and Dordogne rivers. Parking and picnic area good. Ice-cream Van and friendly owner, even gave us drinks for the dogs. Altogether a lovely little stop off before exploring the Medoc wine region and Château."
"Not a huge amount to see. The fort was an earth construction and is largely overgrown. Still has its gatehouse, magazine and a few other buildings of stone."
