Lagrange Vacances - L'Arollaie

"Stayed April 2023. Couldn't be happier with the location, right next to the gondola going to La Plagne ski area and a chair lift going to Les Arcs area, couldn't be in a better location to explore all of Paradiski! Friendly staff, we arrived from the overnight Eurostar with very little sleep, as our apartment was already ready we were able to check in early rather than wait until the afternoon. This made a big difference to us on our first day and meant we didn't have to worry about leaving our luggage somewhere while we enjoyed our first day on the slopes. The apartment was clean and we had a great view over the valley from our balcony. No issues with the inventory, there were a couple of bits of crockery and cutlery missing but we completed the inventory form and noted it and as a result were not charged for any damages etc at the end of our stay. The security of the property was very good. Codes to enter changed weekly, and we had our own lockable closet in the ski room to secure our skis, boots, helmets, goggles, etc. I would definitely book here again. The only minor downsides were: The swimming pool area was a little on the cooler side, not unbearable but not as pleasant as it could have been if the room was heated a degree or two warmer. The billiards area closes at 7pm. If we had been at full occupancy in our apartment I imagine the evenings would have been a little cramped, but as there were 3 of us in an apartment that could sleep 6 we had enough room to relax. The kitchen was on the small side. No surface area for meal prepping unless we used the draining board or hob area. The microwave/oven was quite high above the fridge, having to reach up to remove hot things didn't feel quite safe. The nearest shops and restaurants are a few minutes' walk away, and we loved the local bakery/deli, but I wouldn't recommend this resort for anyone looking for après ski."

"We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment for the February half term.||||The other reviews I had read indicated this wouldn't be great, but for the price charged this is a really good quality apartment block which has a fantastic location adjacent to the main gondola to La Plagne and ski lifts into Les Arcs.||||I would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a fantastic ski location with all the required facilities.||||Below I have highlighted some key points;||1. The location is absolutely perfect and only 100 metres from the ski lift.||2. The ski hire shop is on the opposite side of the road.||3. The apartments are warm and comfortable - we chose a 3 bed for 5 of us and this was perfect.||4. The apartment had a hob, microwave and dishwasher - what else do you need?||5. Each apartment has a ski boot cupboard in the locker room which was well located.||6. As a self catering place be prepared to bring your own food etc or buy locally from the Sherpa supermarket.||7. Parking is free.||||I have read all of the other negative views and I can understand some of the points (e.g. the pool is small) but for the price charged and with the great location this is a great choice for a skiing holiday!||||Highly recommend a visit!"

"We stayed twice at l'Arollaie last year, so I suppose that says something from the off. It is well located, comfortable and new. I don't know about 4 star but the appartments are large and generally well equipped. ||The parking is free but its just get what you can on the road. Generally not too much of a problem except if you leave mid day then the proximity to the Vanoise express will mean you can't get close until the skiing is over for the day.||The Pool is fun but small and was very crowded when we were there but the kids enjoy it.||You have to make your own beds and the reception service is only available for a limited time, nice when she was there though. The litchen was pretty decent but only a Microwave syle oven. Eat out....there are plenty of OK places nothing really fantastic though.|You might as well pay for cleaning at the end of your stay, as they expect a perfect standard.||We stayed at two extremes of the residence one room right next to reception the other miles away down two lifts as the residence rambles down the mountain.||Good points, great views, decent size rooms, location close to the lifts pretty central in the village very competatively priced.||The resort is excellent loads of great slopes at all levels and NO LIFT QUEUES!!!! Very nice family atmosphere. Excellent snow.||BTW I can really recommend New Generation Ski School down the road in Vallandry much much better than ESF. John and his small team are all great fun and really seem to get a buzz from helping you improve.||I am just in the process of booking again! See you there!|"

"The appartments are located directly opposite the ski lift for Peisey so not far to travel after a long day skiing. The rooms are perfect for what you need. We shared an appartment for 8 with 6 people and think we would have struggled with 2 extra, also one toilet between 6 is tight at times! The only other downside is the whole complex is not very sound-proof and you can easily be woken up or kept awake. Otherwise very clean and tidy with friendly staff."

"Room for 6 with one bathroom, nothing to hang your towels or dry them. Worst sofa we ever tried, seats only 3… uncomfortable. Small badly designed kitchen. For the price it was a rip-off."
